Natural pain remedy can minimize discomfort following a fender bender06/30/2006 According to the most recent data by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2002, 42,815 people were killed in the estimated 6,316,000 police-reported motor vehicle traffic crashes, 2,926,000 people were injured and 4,348,000 crashes involved property damage only. Even most minor accidents result in some sort of injury requiring pain relief. Yet, in a seemingly harmless fender bender, or even an accident where there is no damage to your vehicle, it is a very common misconception held by big insurance companies and even the parties involved, that if you don’t have damage to your car you can’t be injured. This is absolutely not true! Often we are so grateful that the damage isn’t worse, that we tend to minimize the pains and minor injuries associated with any car accident, or we don’t feel the full force of an injury until hours, days or even weeks after an accident. A natural pain remedy is an excellent option for minimizing the common pains following a fender bender. By far, soft tissue injuries, such as sprains and strains of the muscles, tendons, and ligaments that are invisible on x-rays and often overlooked, can cause severe debilitating pain after a car accident. The most common injuries include a whiplash injury to the neck, or cervical sprain or strain. Unfortunately, the standard medical approach to these injuries is simply treating the pain with pain-killers or anti-inflammatory drugs which by themselves provide a host of negative side-effects, leaving the injured muscles to hopefully heal on their own. If you are in an accident, make certain to report even minor symptoms first to the responding emergency personnel, and then to your insurance company. Seek medical help immediately if the injuries appear to be severe or become progressively worse. A small seemingly insignificant scratch on the side of the head could later manifest as whiplash, or worse, a concussion. At the very least, an accident victim may discover hours or days later that they suffer from pulled neck, shoulder or back muscles that can all be very painful. Either you or an advocate should continue to update all stakeholders should your injuries worsen. If you are in a minor accident, it is wise to go home and rest, and begin icing the injured area in 20-minute intervals. Follow the ice therapy with a natural pain relief spray that can significantly minimize the pain felt and help the body to recover from the injuries faster.
