Basketball official and coach finds natural pain relief for self and players

07/21/2005

Most basketball fans don't realize the stresses and strains that a player experiences during a game. Unless you have experienced it yourself, it appears to be some very tall guys running back and forth on a small court, dribbling a ball with great skill, and then jumping pretty high to get the ball through a hoop. Not too strenuous, you might say.

Oh, how wrong you would be! These are BIG guys. An average size is about 6'6", many of the players even bigger and weighing 240 lbs upwards. That's a lot of muscle and a heavy weight to move around the court for a distance of about three miles per game over a period of 48 minutes. The resulting aches and pains can be daunting.

Mike Coleman is one of these gentle giants. Today he coaches middle school teams made up of 6th, 7th and 8th graders. His daughter plays 'travel-ball', which is basketball played year-round. He is also an official for high school to junior college players.

6'6", 240 lbs., he played for many years and suffered from wear and tear of knees, back and feet. Doctors, physiotherapists, and many other members of the healing community certainly helped a little but the effects of playing regularly pretty soon resulted in the pain returning with a vengeance. The search for a natural pain remedy became a priority.

Then Mike found a natural pain relief spray called "Naturally Painless" developed by Judy Cutler, a well-known nutritionist. "We had never experienced anything like it before. It handled the strain that these muscles go through in our specific sport," said Coach Coleman. "I use it, my daughter uses it, and my players use it. It's an absolute blessing for anyone involved in not only my sport, but any sport that often results in strained muscles and tendons."
